Rose Coconut Laddoo

What is a laddoo? According to wikipedia "Laddu or laddoo or avinsh is a sphere-shaped sweet originating from the Indian subcontinent." Laddoos are typically made with gram flour. But, if you know me, I am anything but conventional and I set my own rules when it comes to cooking.

Swaying from traditional methods and working creatively in the kitchen can lead to catastrophic results sometimes, especially when it comes to traditional desserts like laddoo. Therefore, I was extra careful on what goes into this recipe and kept it real simple. This is a quick and easy dessert which can be substituted as a healthy breakfast or a snack.

Tip: Just add a cupcake liner and serve these delicious Rose Coconut Laddoo as a party snack.

Rose Coconut Laddoo:

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cooking Time: 2 minutes | Total Time: 15 - 20 minutes


  • Desiccated Coconut - 1 cup

  • Condensed Milk - 1 cup

  • Organic Food Color in Orange - 1/4 teaspoon

  • Cardamom Powder - 1 teaspoon

  • Rose Petals - 1 tablespoon

  • Ghee - 1 tablespoon


  1. Add the desiccated coconut in a pan and roast it in low flame for a minute.

  2. Remove it from the flame and add condensed milk, organic food color and cardamom powder to the coconut and combine it well.

  3. Coat your palms in ghee and make bite sized balls or laddoos.

  4. Freeze it for 10 minutes.

  5. Remove it from the freezer.

  6. In a plate, add couple tablespoons of desiccated coconut and rose petals (grate them to tiny pieces in a blender).

  7. Now coat all the laddoos in the rose coconut mixture.

  8. Serve and Enjoy!
